<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder to write an image easily on a label surface without requiring any load on operation. <P>SOLUTION: One of a pair of data write part and a label write part on the same plane side is enabled, which are provided respectively on both surfaces of a storage medium. Alternatively, the data write part and the label write part on the same surface are moved from one surface to the other surface. Alternatively, a mechanism to change an insertion direction of the storage medium is provided.
