PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which performs initializing operation related to the position of a ball member without giving an unnatural feeling or an unpleasant feeling to a user and also provides satisfactory image blur correcting performance by setting the ball member to be always in a rolling friction state when performing image blur correcting operation. SOLUTION: The photographic lens equipped with: the ball member 34a held between a movable lens barrel 35 and a fixed lens barrel 31, and guiding the movement of the movable lens barrel relative to the fixed lens barrel while rolling in a recessed part 31a formed on the surface of at least either the movable lens barrel or the fixed lens barrel; and a shake correction means capable of controlling the position of the movable lens barrel relative to the fixed lens barrel is attached to/detached from the imaging apparatus. The imaging apparatus has a designation means for designating the photographic lens to perform the initializing operation to position the ball member at a midpoint within the rolling feasible range in the recessed part by driving the shake correction means when the photographic lens is attached to the imaging apparatus.
