PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for coating a fixed cord, which improves adhesiveness to the fixed cord and crack growth resistance and a tire having a carcass and/or a belt using the same. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for coating a cord, which is useful for coating a polyester cord, a nylon cord, an aramid cord or a polyethylenenaphthalate cord is obtained by mixing 100 pts. by wt. of a rubber component with 1-7 pts. by wt. of ultrafine particle zinc oxide having an average particle diameter of≤200 nm.
