The component has an actuator (11) and a valve pre-control stage in valve housing, where the pre-control stage is actuatable by the actuator. A pre-control valve body (10) changes valve opening cross-sections within the valve pre-control stage inversely proportional to each other. Main stage valve body of a valve main stage is lifted from the main stage against the effect of a valve spring (21), such that a direct passage (1) is formed between the valve inlet and a valve outlet by by-passing the valve pre-control stage in the valve housing. The passage is variably adjustable.
