<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an experimental system for detecting in vivo mutation induced in somatic cells or reproductive cells in order to evaluate the safety of foods, pharmaceuticals, environmental mutagens, radiation, etc., at a biological individual level. <P>SOLUTION: The experimental system is such that, an ES cell is transferred with an endogenous gene duplication; in that case, by coupling a gene portion encoding a fluorescent protein in an in-frame fashion to the 3'-terminal of the duplicate gene portion, a knock-in animal is created in which the endogenous gene duplication and the gene encoding the fluorescent protein are united together. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
