PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a representative information selection technology for selecting representative information whose number is proper for summarizing the content from an information group considered to be substantially equal without making it necessary to set/adjust the threshold of degree of representation. SOLUTION: Representative information is selected so that each information excluding representative information can be related with at least one or more representative information by predetermined similarity or more. When three documents of a document D3, a document D5 and a document D10 are selected as representative documents, the document D1 and the document D2 are related with the representative document D3 by a similarity threshold or more, and the document D4 is related with the representative documents D3 and D5 by the similarity threshold or more, and a document D6, a document D7, a document D8 and a document D9 are related with the representative document D5 by the similarity threshold or more, and a document D11, a document D12, a document D13 and a document D14 are related with the representative document D10 by the similarity threshold or more, and each document excluding the representative document is related with at least one or more representative documents by the similarity threshold or more.
