PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prefetch control method and a compile device, efficiently prefetching data. SOLUTION: For a program having an unknown data access pattern of the source program in compiling, whether a distance determined in compiling is invariable or not is determined at every operation. When the distance is invariable and constant, and it is a cache line length or more, a prefetch instruction is generated, when the distance determined in compiling is variable and fluctuated at every operation, a conditional prefetch instruction is generated (steps 307, 304, 306, and 308).
