PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a thermal head capable of keeping a high sharpness of an image even when high-speed printing is performed. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the thermal head can realize the image with a specified gradation on every line by applying an energization of electricity and non-energization of electricity to a resistor constituting the thermal head. In addition, one line period is constituted of one electricity energization period for energizing electricity and one period for non-energization of electricity for performing non-energization of electricity. In the one line period, after the period for non-energization of electricity, energization of electricity to the resistor is performed during an electricity energization period.
