<p>A power amplifying apparatus wherein the number of ?/4 transfer lines partially constituting a Doherty amplifier has been reduced. In this power amplifying apparatus (100), the characteristic impedance of a first ?/4 transfer line (105) partially constituting the Doherty amplifier on the side of a carrier amplifier (103) is set to be greater than the output impedance of the carrier amplifier (103). For example, when the output impedance of the carrier amplifier (103) is 50 O, the characteristic impedance of the first ?/4 transfer line (105) is set to be 50 OE2<SUP>1/2</SUP> ~ 71 O. In addition, a peak output matching circuit (109) on the output side of a peak amplifier (108) is adapted to match to an impedance higher than a load impedance (Z). For example, the peak amplifier output matching circuit (109) matches to an impedance that is equal to a double of the load impedance (Z).</p> |
