The bumper has a bumper base (6) that is provided with a releasing device (5) in the form of an overload-releasing device, or a predetermined break section. The releasing device switches supporting of a spring element (3) on the base during exceeding of a normal spring travel. The releasing device releases an additional shifting path relative to a sleeve (2) to a tappet (1), so that the sleeve sustains a deformation and a contraction on a controlled, essentially continuous force level and the spring element is shifted together with the tappet. An independent claim is also included for a sleeve bumper.
