<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator in which the rise of the output at the initial operation is small. <P>SOLUTION: The inside of a cup member 20 covered on an igniter assembly 10 is separated into three combustion chambers 41, 42, 43 by a first partition 31 and a second partition 32. During the operation, a second gas generating agent 52 in the second combustion chamber 42 burns first, and gas generating agents in the other two combustion chambers 42, 43 burn later.
