PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate wasteful energization to a condensation-preventing heater 5 provided in an opening rim 1a of an opening and closing door 4. SOLUTION: The brown rice cooling box A is incorporated with a refrigerating cycle in a machine chamber 2 provided in a heat insulating box made cooler box body 1 upper part. Dew condensation of the opening rim 1a is prevented by heating of the condensation-preventing heater 5. The refrigerating cycle is automatically controlled on the basis of an internal temperature Ts such that a cooling box 1 interior is at a suitable temperature (12°C) to cool and store brown rice 3 in the cooling box body 1. When an outside air temperature becomes 12°C or lower and the 12°C or lower continues for an hour, energization to the condensation-preventing heater 5 and the refrigerating cycle are stopped. In such way, in an annual outside air temperature change as indicated in the figure, during the spring season and the autumn season, "automatic suspension (stopping)" and "automatic operation" are carried out equally, "automatic operation" is carried out during the summer season, and "automatic suspension" is carried out during the winter season, and driving of the refrigerating cycle and driving of the condensation-preventing heater 5 are efficiently carried out to carry out cooling without waste.
