The system (30) has a base system cooperating with a model-supported module (32), which is provided for residual life duration estimation of components of the system and the process under consideration of process-and system data provided by the base system. A model-supported system is connected with a cost consideration module (34) which executes efficiency examination, automatically evaluates the examination and transfers the result of the evaluation. The base system makes possible decisions from results of the automatic evaluation by maintenance measures for further processing. An independent claim is also included for a method for optimized maintenance planning in a system monitoring system of a technical system or a technical process.
