The device (100) has two connections (120a, 120b) for applying a defined supply voltage to a conductor structure (110) to cause a current flow through the conductor structure based on a temperature-dependent resistance of the conductor structure. A magnetic field detecting device detects a magnetic field, which is caused by the current flow through the conductor structure by a magneto-resistive unit (130) attached to the conductor structure, where a change of the detected magnetic field is assignable to a change of the temperature-dependent resistance of the conductor structure. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sensor for detecting a mass of a flowing liquid or gaseous medium (2) a method for detecting a temperature-dependent change of resistance of a conductor structure.
