<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide niobium alkoxides, especially niobium ethoxide, niobium n-propoxide, niobium isomeric butoxides, and niobium isomeric amyloxides in a highly pure and light-colored form by a simple, easily industrially practicable, cost-reducing, and very highly reproducible manner. <P>SOLUTION: This invention provides a method for producing high-purity and light-colored niobium alkoxides represented by formula (I): Nb(OR)<SB>5</SB>[wherein R is the same as defined in the specification]. This method comprises purifying a crude niobium alkoxide of formula (I) by the addition of 0.01-5 mass%, advantageously 0.1-2 mass% at least one alcohol represented by formula (II): R<SP>1</SP>OH [wherein R<SP>1</SP>is the same as defined in the specification] or by treatment with air or with another oxygen-containing gaseous mixture and optionally by subsequent distillation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
