<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for continuing maintenance of connection even when notification required for the maintenance of connection between terminals performing connection communication dissipates in the middle of a path. <P>SOLUTION: When TCP/IP connection between the first and second terminals is established, connection information comprised of four combinations of the respective IP addresses and the respective port number of the terminals, sequence numbers whose delivery are confirmed in the respective directions of the connection and time when a TCP segment regarding the connection is relayed at last are stored in each of first and second relay devices, when the TCP segment regarding the connection is not relayed for over a predetermined period and packet reception between the first and second relay devices is not generated, the first relay device transmits connection maintenance notification to the first terminal and the second relay device transmits the connection maintenance notification toward the second terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
