PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molecular communication system in which selective emission of information molecules from a molecular transmitter and selective reception of information molecules by a molecular receiver can be artificially controlled. SOLUTION: The molecular communication system (10) comprises a molecular transmitter (20) configured to transmit an information molecule (45) in which prescribed information is encoded, a molecular receiver (30) configured to receive the information molecule, and a molecular capsule (40) configured to carry the information molecule from the molecular transmitter to the molecular receiver. Each of the molecular transmitter, the molecular receiver, and the molecular capsule comprises lipid bilayer membranes (21, 31, 41) in which at least one kind of molecular switch (22, 32, 42) responsive to an external input signal is embedded. By applying the external input signal, association and separation between the molecular transmitter and the molecular capsule and between the molecular capsule and the molecular receiver are controlled to transmit and receive the information molecule.
