PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive an OFDM signal without increasing a circuit scale so much regardless of a periodical time variation or a random time variation. SOLUTION: An OFDM signal receiver receives an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signal, estimates transmission line characteristics using a pilot signal in the received OFDM signal, and compensates transmission distortion based on the estimated transmission line characteristics for the received OFDM signal. The OFDM signal receiver estimates a Doppler spectrum by a Doppler spectrum estimating unit 175 for the received OFDM signal, determines the maximum Doppler frequency by a maximum Doppler frequency determination circuit 176 for the estimated Doppler spectrum, and switches a plurality of types of time direction transmission line estimation means 172, 173 used for estimating the transmission line characteristics by a selector 174 according to the maximum Doppler frequency.
