PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure proper attaching for a dust box, to prevent a problem caused by an improper dust box attached condition, and to carry out a proper air-conditioning operation and cleaning operation. SOLUTION: This air conditioner provided with an air-conditioning mechanism X, and a cleaning mechanism Y for scraping down dust deposited on a surface of a filter 13 to be collected into the dust box 20, is attached detachably with the dust box 20 in a storage part 30 in a casing 1 side, and is provided with an attaching detecting means P for detecting the proper attaching of the dust box 20, between the dust box 20 and the storage part 30. An unattached condition of the dust box 20 or an incomplete attached condition thereof is detected by the attaching detecting means P, in this constitution, an operator can quickly attach properly the dust box 20 by confirming detection information, and the cleaning operation or the air-conditioning operation under the dust box unattached condition and the dust box incomplete attached condition, is surely prevented from being carried out, to enhance reliability of the operation of the air conditioner.
