PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-inflammatory and analgesic cream preparation containing as an active ingredient 4-biphenylacetic acid excellent in anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect, affording sufficient viscosity in use even if compounded with relatively small amounts of a water-soluble polymer, good in feeling in use, and also highly stable with the crystal growth of 4-biphenylacetic acid sufficiently suppressed during storage. SOLUTION: The anti-inflammatory and analgesic cream preparation comprises 4-biphenylacetic acid, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, the water-soluble polymer, a surfactant, a pH adjuster and water.
