<p>An actuator having an output shaft directly driven by a rotational force and a boss for holding the output shaft so as to be freely and directly movable comprises a linking member for transmitting the direct acting motion of the output shaft to an external device. The linking member includes a joint linked to the output shaft and a link plate, one end of which is linked to the joint so as to be freely rotatable and the other end of which is linked to an external device so as to be freely rotatable. Only the joint and the link portion between the link plate and the external device constitute a rotation-stop mechanism for the output shaft.</p>
