A method, a system and a terminal for sending and receiving the multicast broadcast service are provided, which enable the terminal in the WiMAX system to receive the MBS data corresponding with the multicast broadcast service content ID from the air interface successfully. In the invention, based on the correspondence between the preset multicast broadcast service content ID and the LCID, the network side sends the MBS data with the LCID corresponding with the multicast broadcast service content ID on the air interface link identified by the MCID, the terminal generates the corresponding LCID from the multicast broadcast service content ID of the MBS based on the same correspondence, and receives the data of the logical channel identified by LCID on the air interface link identified by the MCID of required MBS. In addition, a method for distributing the multicast broadcast service content ID is also provided. The uniqueness of the multicast broadcast service content ID could be guaranteed within the operator, ASN, MBS field or the like.
