<p>The curtain (1) has a transmission unit (4) with transmitting elements (38) for transmitting light rays (2) running in a plane. A control unit (20) is provided for separately controlling the transmitting elements. A protection field (10) is defined between the transmission unit and a reception unit. An evaluation unit separately controls and evaluates reception elements (40). An address and data bus (24) selects and evaluates one of the reception elements. A data transmission unit (42) is provided for data transmission between the control unit and the evaluation unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for covering a danger area of a machine and for recognizing objects.</p> |
