A method in a system with sensors (S1-Sn) and receivers (M1-Mn) for receiving messages from the sensors. According to the invention, at least one of the receivers (M1) is prepared for accepting messages from at least one of the sensors (S1) by rendering the receiver susceptible to a request from the sensor to be registered as a sensor from which the receiver accepts messages, during a time slot (Tm0-Tm1), which has a limited duration in time and is automatically closed after a predetermined period of time, after which time slot the receiver no longer accepts such a request, whereupon the sensor is caused to send said request, comprising an identity code unique to the sensor, to the receiver within the time slot, after which the receiver registers the sensor, when receiving said request, as a sensor from which the receiver accepts messages. The invention also relates to a system for realizing the method.
