<p>The gear has a cage assembly (24) with two oppositely facing side panels (5) and a floor panel (6). A slider (4) has an opening to which a moveable contact bridge (3) is fixed to provide a firm contact between the slider and a contact spring (2). Sidewalls (23) of the panels form a space into which the bridge moves during the switching process. The panels are connected to a gutter on the side opposite to a floor panel. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method of manufacturing a switch gear.</p>
