An LCD having light guide plates equipped with a double-faced total reflection plate in a portable terminal is provided to adjust the brightness of each display screen more efficiently by using a double-faced total reflection plate in a portable terminal having two display screens, instead of an existing semi-transmissive reflection plate. An LCD in a portable terminal having an upper liquid crystal panel(24) and a lower liquid crystal panel(25) comprises a double-faced total reflection plate(23), a light source(26), an upper light guide plate(21), and a lower light guide plate(22). The double-faced total reflection plate is located between the upper and lower liquid crystal panels. The light source, placed beside the double-faced total reflection plate, generates light. The upper light guide plate, arranged between the double-faced total reflection plate and the upper liquid crystal panel, radiates the light projected from the light source toward the upper liquid crystal panel. The lower light guide plate, arranged between the double-faced total reflection plate and the lower liquid crystal panel, radiates the light projected from the light source toward the lower liquid crystal panel. |
