A protecting device for a glass vessel for storing food is provided to reinforce the outer side by using soft plastic, rubber or silicone whose manufacturing cost is low relatively. In a protecting device for a glass vessel for storing food, a molded material made of a soft material enclosing the outer side of a glass vessel forms a cover to reduce the shock, to restrain the damage and to protect a human body against the explosion due to its own internal stress of the heat resistant glass or at the time of a vacuum state. The molded material made of soft plastic, rubber or silicone forms a cover. A ventilation hole is formed to reduce the resistance due to the compression of air.
