Class 38 (v) [Also in Groups XXIII and XXVIII] A vacuum cleaner is fitted with a handle 4, 5 which is pivotable about a central point to operate a tumbler switch 7 and may also be used to lift the cleaner. The dolly of the tumbler switch is engaged by a slot in the end 6 of the handle and the part 5 of the latter is enclosed so that the cleaner is lifted by gripping the part 4 which will automatically move the switch "off" unless the handle is locked "on" by a catch 8 or a cam device, Fig. 3 (not shown). The part 4 of the handle has shoulders 11, 12 which engage portions of a frame 2 to, limit movement and a slot 10 which engages a pin on an indicator 9 to operate the latter. |
