<p>There is provided an IC card processor capable of processing an IC card only when an IC card is inserted, and also capable of preventing entry of an extraneous object.</p><p>An IC card processor (10) comprising:
an insertion slot (1c) into which an IC card (2) comprising an IC contact (2c) is inserted; a shutter (5) for controlling the entry of the IC card (2) having been inserted into the insertion slot (1c) into the body inside (1a); and an IC contact block (8) for reading or writing information by coming into contact with the IC contact (2c) on the IC card (2) having entered the body inside (1a), is provided with an IC contact detection sensor (4) for detecting the presence or absence of the IC contact (2c) in proximity to the insertion slot (1c). On the basis of temporal variations in detecting state of the IC contact detection sensor (4) when the IC card (2) or an extraneous object or the like is inserted into the insertion slot (1c), whether the IC card (2) has been inserted into the insertion slot (1c) or not is determined, and only when the insertion of the IC card (2) is determined, the shutter (5) is opened so as to release control over the entry of the IC card (2) into the body inside (1a).</p> |
