A negative electrode plate is provided to improve a cycle life, high-rate discharge characteristic, battery capacity, and battery safety when applied to a secondary battery. A method for manufacturing a negative electrode plate(18) for a nickel/metal hydride secondary battery includes the steps of: punching a metal plate to form many through holes(110); stuffing an electrode material between two pieces of the metal plates; applying external force to the metal plates to compress the two pieces of metal plates together with a hydrogen storage alloy powder, thereby restricting the electrode material between the two pieces of metal plates, and then pressing the resultant to form strips(100); connecting at least two strips with one another to provide desired capacity; and inserting the connected strips into a negative electrode frame(300) to unite the strips with an electrode terminal(310). |
