A retardation film manufacturing method, a retardation film and use thereof are provided to supply superior transparency, low gas permeability, superior dimensional stability, an optical axis in a film width direction and superior reverse wavelength dispersibility, and manufacture the retardation film by including norbornene resin having a low NZ coefficient. By stretching a film including norbornene resin in a range of two to 5 times in a width direction of a film roll under temperature conditions of Tg to Tg+50 degrees based on the glass transition temperature(Tg) of the film, a retardation film is obtained. In the retardation film, a ratio Re/Re is in a range of 1.03 to 1.18 and a ratio Re/Re is in a range less than 1.0. And an optical axis is in the width direction of the film roll. |
