A refrigerator having a lifting part is provided to mount a lifting plate with a driving unit for reducing a space occupied by the lifting part and achieving the reliability in operation. A refrigerator having a lifting part includes a main body having a storing chamber, a door mounted at an upper part of the main body for opening and closing an inlet of the storing chamber, and a lifting part having a lifting plate positioned on a bottom surface of a storing space, and a lifting element(30) mounted to the lifting plate and the main body to lift the lifting plate toward an opening at the upper part of the main body. The lifting element has racks mounted at both sides in the main body, pinions(34) mounted to a first rotation shaft to be engaged with the racks, and a driving unit. The driving unit has a second rotation shaft, a driving gear mounted to the second rotation shaft to be engaged with the pinions, a worm wheel mounted coaxially with the driving gear, and a worm engaged with the worm wheel and driven by a motor. |
