Starter-generator operable with multiple variable frequencies and voltages

A starter-generator system (100) is configured to be operable at multiple variable frequencies. The starter-generator (100) includes a rotor (122) and a stator (124). The rotor (122) is configured to rotate and has a single main field winding (126) wound thereon. The stator (124) has at least a first stator winding set (128-1) and second stator winding set (128-2) independently wound thereon. Upon electrical excitation and rotation of the rotor (122) the starter-generator (100) supplies electrical power from each of the stator winding sets (128-1, 128-2) at different frequencies. Also, upon electrically exciting one or both of the stator winding sets (128-1, 128-2) with appropriate AC power, the rotor (122) will rotate and generate a starting torque.
