An apparatus for opening and closing a window of a building with upward and downward movement is provided to offer a window system without having an intermediate frame for supporting a window from the center, to offer an excellent ventilation structure by utilizing natural convection sufficiently, and to heighten the stability and space utilization of a building by splitting into each floor in the longitudinal direction or opening windows individually or simultaneously in an emergency. An apparatus for opening and closing a window of a building with upward and downward movement includes a first longitudinal rail(50) and a second longitudinal rail installed on two sides of a window frame formed on a wall of a building in the longitudinal direction, a first window(10) and a second window(20) provided with rollers(10a,20a) inserted to the first longitudinal rail and the second longitudinal rail respectively and sliding upward and downward, wires(30) fixed to the first window and the second window, and pulleys(40) splitting and supporting the first window and the second window to two sides of load in the center of the wire. |
