The method divides bandwidth resources in a particular sector of a sectored cellular network into "private" bandwidth resource for use by mobiles in that sector and a "public" bandwidth resource, which can be lent to other sectors. Bandwidth resource which has been allocated to users in a central area of the sector can, in addition, be multiplexed by other sectors. This method of bandwidth resource allocation utilizes the resource of the adjacent cells efficiently, and resolves the problem of interference among cells due to the bandwidth resource borrowing/multiplexing. |
