The machine tool (10) has a work spindle (11) containing a tool receiver (14) for a tool holder (15). A tool changing arm (23) has a grip (21) for the tool holder. to move it between magazine and working positions. There is an aligner (39) between the grip and the tool holder. The aligner is released after the tool holder has been clamped so that it can turn relative to the grip.
