The illumination unit (10) has luminescence diodes (20, 220) provided with respective light-emitting chips as light sources. A primary optics (30) includes light conducting bodies (31, 231) connected downstream of respective LEDs. A secondary optics (90) is optically connected downstream of the light conducting body (31). The light conducting body (231) is optically connected upstream of the secondary optics. Light discharge surfaces of the light conducting bodies adjoin in a separation joint.
