In a forward structure according to the invention of a motor vehicle, two transverse members (6, 8) are connected to one another by means of a hollow member (9). One of the fastenings (11) of the hollow member (9) can be displaced by a distance x in the direction of travel and has an adapter (13) produced from plastic. During driving, a transmission of vibrations between the transverse members (6, 8) is prevented by means of the fastening (11).
