A recording medium and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent adhesion of foreign materials on a recording layer and to prevent thermal deformation of the recording layer by forming a cover layer of predetermined thickness. A recording medium(10) comprises a disk(11), and a cover layer(12). Data is recorded on the disk. The cover layer is stacked on the disk. The cover layer is formed by mixing a binder material with a nano particle, one of Ti oxide, Zn oxide, Ce oxide, Al oxide, and Ba-Ta oxide, and hardening the mixture. The nano particle has great refractive index. The thickness of the cover layer is 1~5mum.
