The stack (21) includes at least one bipolar battery (24) and pressure is maintained between the latter using at least one strut (25). The circuit breaking mechanism (30) releases this pressure when the collision detection device (23) detects a collision. The mechanism also includes an expansion unit such as an airbag for separating the sub-stacks once the pressure has been released. The collision detection device is connected to a control unit (22) for the circuit breaker mechanism. An independent claim is also included for an electric vehicle provided with this circuit breaker system.
