A core voltage(Vcore) generator and a semiconductor memory device including the same are provided to reduce current consumption by turning on/off the core voltage generator in an active mode operation. A core voltage sensing unit(110) senses a core voltage. A plurality of first control signal generation parts receives an output signal of the core voltage sensing unit and then generates a plurality of internal control signals according to the voltage level of the output signal. A second control signal generation part generates a plurality of driver control signals in response to the first control signal and a plurality of internal command signals. A plurality of core voltage drivers performs on/off operation in response to the corresponding driver control signal. The plurality of first control signal generation parts has different logic threshold voltages.
