A system and a method of indicating non-memory installation of the system are provided to detect whether a memory is connected to an engine which controls a fan velocity during a self-diagnosis test and indicate non-memory installation when the memory is not connected to the engine, thereby preventing the system from being wrongly operated and being damaged. A system includes an engine(22), a memory(50), a detector(40) and an indicator(60). The engine controls network management and a fan velocity. The memory is inserted into a predetermined memory slot connected to the engine and store data generated when the engine operates. The detector detects whether the memory is inserted into the memory slot during a self-diagnosis test. The indicator indicates an error under the control of the detector when the memory is not inserted into the memory slot.
