METHOD FOR PRERARING FISH OTOLITH SECTIONS

A method for preparing fish otolith sections is carried out by means of horizontal orientation of otolithes in a matrix with the aid of gum-arabic, pouring thereof into polyester resin, the subsequent sawing of the obtained blank parts and smooth finishing the sawing surface. Specimens are fixed in a paper matrix with the aid of a double scotch tape.
