MAGNETIC DISC DRIVE, AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A magnetic disk drive and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce helium leakage amount sealed in the magnetic disk drive by filing low vapor pressure oil or low viscosity adhesive into a blow hole or a welded part between a base and a cover. A magnetic disc drive(10) comprises a disc(32), a spindle motor(30) rotating the disc, a head recording or reproducing information on the disc, a base(12) wherein an actuator assembly is formed to move the head in the radial direction on the disc, and a cover(20) being in contact with the base. The low density gas is filled in the space where the base and the cover are joined. Low vapor pressure oil(7) or low viscosity adhesive(8) is filled in a hole formed at the joint of the base and the cover.
