<p>The protection limits access to the earth surface around a plant in a pot and restricts evaporation from the earch surface. The protection comprises at least one ring-shaped cover plate provided with at least three fixtures and at least three blade-type components. A radially adjustable component includes an elongated track, in which the fixture can be releasably inserted in the cover plate axial direction.
