An image forming apparatus is provided to perform multiple printing by dividing an image forming area which will be formed in a print medium, thereby implementing an image of a high resolution even when a defect nozzle is generated. A print unit(10) prints an image on a print medium, and moves in a print medium transfer direction. A driving unit(20) moves the print unit, and a transfer unit(30) flatly transfers the print medium as much as a predetermined section. A control unit controls the driving unit and the transfer unit so as to perform multiple printing by dividing an image forming area of the print medium into at least two areas.
