A lighting device being easy to accommodate an increase in size, eliminating front-direction luminance irregularities without accurate alignments between a light source and other members, and being advantageous in productivity improvement and thinning, characterized in that, when the center-to-center distance between linear light sources is D, the distance between the linear light sources and a light control member is H, and g(X)=f(X-D)+f(X)+f(X+D) assuming a function expressing an outgoing light intensity in a normal direction in an X-direction position coordinate X (a light source position: X=0) is f(X), a ratio between g(X)min and g(X)max within a range-D/2 <= X <= D/2 is at least 0.6, minimum value Xmin of X is within a range-3.0D <= Xmin <=-0.5D and maximum value Xmax is within a range 0.5D <= Xmax <= 3.0D, and the X-direction sectional shape of an arbitrary convex portion consists of (2N+1) pieces of different-inclination areas represented by a specific relation determined by D, H and X. ® KIPO & WIPO 2008
