A folder opening/closing recognition device of a folder-type portable terminal is provided to equip magnet forces essential for the folder opening/closing recognition device in coupling fixing units for fixing a folder, thus it is no need to install a magnet, thereby saving a manufacturing cost. A magnetic force detection sensor senses a magnetic force by being disposed on a body. At least one coupling fixing unit couples upper and lower cases(21,22) of a folder(20) to fix the folder(20), has magnetic forces, and delivers the magnetic forces to the magnetic force detection sensor according to opening/closing actions of the folder. The coupling fixing units consist of screws. At least one coupling hole for inserting the coupling fixing units is further formed on the upper and lower cases.
