The invention relates to a method and a portable system for evaluating the quality of meat, such as beef, sheep meat, pork, poultry or any other meat. The instrument of the invention includes a portable device which is positioned next to the meat samples to be analysed, takes an image of the sample and subsequently objectively associates the image with meat quality parameters using an image analysis method. The invention provides a practical, quick and satisfactory solution for determining meat quality parameters, such as texture, colour and intramuscular fat percentage. |
