<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter circuit which uniformly maintains a current flowing in a plurality of pairs of discharging tubes and prevents a situation where some of discharging tubes are kept unlit. <P>SOLUTION: An inverter 111 controls an output signal based on a current detecting value returning from a current detecting transformer 115. An inverter transformer 112 has a primary winding wire 1121 connected with the inverter 111. The inverter transformer 112 has secondary winding wires 1122, 1123, 1124, 1125 to supply an AC high voltage to an anode tube 120. Primary winding wires 1131, 1141 of balance transformers 113, 114 are connected in parallel with the secondary winding wires 1122, 1123, 1124, 1125.
